Stephanie Burkhead is a writer, editor and strategist with a deep love of words. As a journalism-trained communications professional, Stephanie advocates for grammatically correct and literacy-appropriate language everywhere she goes.

Stephanie created Bold Axis Communications, LLC, after spending most of her professional career in corporate America. She has worked for nonprofits, on the agency side, for a membership organization, in the health insurance payer space, and with consumers, students, professors and clinicians all around the world. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri (the nation’s first journalism school!) and a Master of Public Health from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the Society for Health Communication and the American Medical Writers Association.
